Book News on a Beautiful Day!
While one of my friends just returned from El Camino in Spain and another is hiking the Appalachian Trail, I confess that I was quite content to be in Portland this weekend. These are the days we live for! Everyone is smiling, so happy to be outside in the sun. On Friday, my husband, Pat, and I walked almost ten miles round-trip from our home in Southeast over the Tilikum Crossing Bridge onto the Greenway that runs adjacent to the Willamette River on one side and high rise buildings on the other, then up to a bookstore I didn’t know existed before friend and fellow author Cynthia Stowall told me about it. Chaparral Books generally sells used books, but its owner hosts authors and poets for talks and signings. So, I unexpectedly got a new date to add to my mini-book tour: Thursday, June 27 at 7pm. I think you’ll love this store!
As a reminder, I’ll be in Newberg, Oregon this Friday, April 5 from 5-8pm at Chapters Books & Coffee and would LOVE it if you came to visit. I am “the art” for First Friday Art Walk! I’m going to bring a bit of show and tell to entice you.
Also for those who live in my neighborhood, look for the article in SE Examiner about my book, In the Wake of Madness: My Family’s Escape from the Nazis. (Try to ignore the fact that the photo caption misspells my parents’ last name, that I really didn’t really take the picture of my parents before I was born, and that the date of First Friday should be April 5!) Hope you are all enjoying a touch of spring wherever you are!
